Privacy Policy

Effective August 21, 2026

MyMacroMentor is built so that almost everything you record stays on your own device. This policy explains what we collect, the few times information leaves your phone, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

MyMacroMentor is operated by 2563529 Alberta Ltd. ("MyMacroMentor", "we", "us"), a corporation registered in Alberta, Canada. You can reach us at info@mymacromentor.com for any privacy question or request.

This policy covers the MyMacroMentor app and this website. The app is not available everywhere, and some features depend on services that are not offered in every country.

Information we collect

Account information

Creating an account gives us your email address. If you sign in through another service, we receive the basic profile details that service passes us, such as an account identifier and the email address on it. Alongside it we keep a running count of the AI estimates the account has used, so we can apply the allowance.

Information stored only on your device

Information of the following kinds stays on your phone and is not copied to our servers, including:

Health data from Apple Health

If you connect Apple Health, we read the health data you grant us access to, such as your steps and your weight, and the app shows you what it read. We read only; we do not currently write anything back to Health. This data stays on your device, and it is never used for advertising or sold. You choose what to share when you connect, and you can change it at any time in the app or in Apple's Health settings.

Meal photos, described meals and label photos

If you photograph a meal or a nutrition label for automatic estimation — or choose an existing picture from your photo library — that image is sent for analysis as described below, along with any description you type to go with it. If you describe a meal in words instead, typed or spoken, the text is sent the same way. We receive only the picture you choose, and we do not keep it or the words you send with it once your estimate has been produced.

When information leaves your device

Information leaves your device in the following ways:

How we use information

We use information for purposes such as:

We may also use information that does not identify anyone — combined, summarised or stripped of identifying details — to understand how the app is used and to improve it.

Service providers

We share information with the service providers needed to run the app, such as:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. If the business, or part of it, is ever sold or reorganised, information covered by this policy may transfer with it, and this policy will continue to apply to it until it is replaced.

Technical information that comes with a request

Any request an app or a browser makes over the internet carries technical information with it, such as your device's IP address and details of the software making the request. That applies to the requests described above, including those to the public nutrition databases, which receive them under their own terms. We use this kind of information to deliver the service, keep it secure, and diagnose problems.

Where your information is handled

We are based in Canada, and the service providers we rely on are located in the United States and elsewhere. Information covered by this policy may therefore be transferred to, stored in, or handled in countries whose privacy laws differ from those where you live, and may be accessible to courts and authorities in those countries under their own laws. Where we transfer information, we take steps we consider appropriate to protect it.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your account record for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account in the app (Profile, then Delete account); that removes it from our systems, along with the estimate count held against it, and wipes the app's data from your phone. We also ask our subscription provider to remove its record of you; until that removal goes through we keep your account identifier alone, and nothing else. Where the law requires us to keep something, we keep only that. An active App Store subscription is Apple's to cancel — do that in your App Store settings, before or after. You can also email info@mymacromentor.com from the address on the account and we will remove it for you.

Diagnostic reports are kept only as long as they are useful for finding and fixing the fault, and they are not tied to your account.

What you record is held on your own device, so deleting the app removes it from that device. Where we hold no copy there is nothing for us to restore — if any of it matters to you, keep your own record before you go.

Security

We protect your information with measures suited to how sensitive it is, including encrypting your sign-in on the device and restricting who can reach our accounts system. You can also add a Face ID or passcode lock to the app in its settings. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

What you record belongs to the account that recorded it, and signing out does not remove it from the device. Treat the app as personal to the device it is installed on.

Children

MyMacroMentor is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Your privacy rights

Canada

Under Canadian privacy law you may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

United States

Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to request a copy, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or of sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising — we do neither, so there is nothing to opt out of. Exercising these rights will never result in worse service.

Depending on where you live you may also be able to appeal a decision we make on a request — reply to our answer and say so — and to make a request through someone authorised to act for you, once we can confirm that they are.

To make any request, email info@mymacromentor.com. We may need to confirm you control the account's email address before we act.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the page and the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell you in the app or by email.
